Social Capital—Can It Weaken the Influence of Abusive Supervision on Employee Behavior?

The travel industry has been severely affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. operating pressure on enterprises sharply increased, leading to prominent phenomenon of abusive supervision. Managers employ this management method so that employees perceive work as motivation harder and improve their performance. Employees may adopt behavior defensive silence protect themselves from supervision, which can subsequently affect employee behavior. However, social capital relationships lessen effect. This study analyzed survey data 475 workers Chinese tourism service examine mediating role workers’ under behavior, moderating capital. results showed supervision does not promote performance but hinders growth. Employees’ also affects a partially in relationship between Social mitigate negative impact theoretically expands applicable scope variable variable. It is helpful for managers change leadership style, follow suggestions employees, pay attention organizational atmosphere, enhance team cohesion.
